flooding
our basement flooded twice during those torrential downpours we had a couple of weeks ago. we have a sump pump but i don't think it's working to its full potential. each time we got about two inches of water coming from the west side of the basement. i've scheduled an appointment with a waterproofer for a free inspection and estimate but i need to schedule with another one for comparison. our flood wasn't nearly as bad as other folks but overall a flooded basement is a hassle to clean up.

slips n falls
this is related to the basement flooding. the second time we flooded i was standing at the top of the stairs surveying the damage. i took one step down to get a closer look and fell flat on my ass. my slippers went flying and landed on top of the water (i should've gotten a photo). i screamed out moreso because my only pair of slippers got wet and not so much because i fell. my sister came running to my rescue and tried her best not to laugh. it was then i noticed my wrist was bleeding. in summary, although i sustained a skinned wrist and a sore butt, that shit was hilarious. i mean if you would've seen the spread on that ho...

we love the 80s
a few entries ago i mentioned an 80s birthday party i was attending. can i just say that i had SO MUCH FUN at that party? my outfit came together even though my shirt was really big. i ended up wear a baby pink oversized off the shoulder tee with "candy girl" airbrushed on the front (with a hot pink tank underneath), denim mini skirt with hot pink leggings, pink & blue metallic reebok freestyles (that donald was hating on), and grey slouch socks courtesy of my mom (i'm pretty sure they were actually from the 80s). my sister wore jeans with green and yellow legwarmers, a cut-off sweatshirt with iron-on letters in her zodiac sign (placed diagonally...so 80s!), and some skippies. we both had on door knocker earrings. we pretty much danced the whole night and stayed for the whole party. the birthday girl looked fly in some gold lame leggings with a turquoise tunic tee and matching legwarmers. overall? fun times!

my sister and my homie all but forced me to sign up for this (the free 3 day trial anyway). i think we were at the computer for over an hour and they rejected my profile. lol. but i think i'm going to be serious about it and sign up for real. i mean, why not? i'm not meeting ppl on my own and it would be wonderful to date someone who can go home afterwards bc the drive isn't long. we'll see how that goes.
